A flash of Fall's iconic colors, captured on a Western PA trail, sparked the design for this mountain bike image. While the original photo was taken on one of my favorite local rides near Pittsburgh, the aesthetic evokes the sweeping vistas of Jake's Rocks and the legendary Allegrippis trails. Autumn in Pennsylvania or any East Coast MTB trail, from October through November, is a breathtaking blaze of color. It's also the unofficial start of fat bike season. East Coast MTB trails become a carpet of fallen leaves, so thick they can completely hide the path beneath them. This is where a fat bike truly shines, its wide tires soaking up the hidden rocks and branches that would otherwise catch you by surprise. After all, as the saying goes, "Fatter is Funner!"
